Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Spyglass (the "App"), a macOS Quick Look preview extension and host app for Google Workspace stub files, published by Magicelk Labs ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License to use

Spyglass is source-available under the PolyForm Shield License 1.0.0, which governs your rights to the code. These Terms govern your use of the distributed App. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App.

2. Eligibility

Spyglass is intended for users aged 13 or older. By using it you represent that you meet this requirement and that your use complies with all laws that apply to you.

3. Google account access

Rendered previews are an optional feature that requires you to sign in with Google. When you do, the App requests read-only access using the drive.readonly scope. It cannot edit, delete, or share your files. Your use of Google services through the App is also subject to Google's Terms of Service. You may revoke the App's access at any time from your Google Account permissions. How the App handles this access is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use the App to access files or accounts you are not authorized to access;
circumvent, disable, or tamper with the App's access controls or update mechanism;
reverse-engineer the App except to the extent the license or applicable law permits; or
use the App in any way that breaks the law or the terms of the services it interacts with.

5. Third-party services

The App relies on services it does not control, including Google Drive and the Google APIs used to fetch previews. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. Spyglass is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google.

6. Disclaimer of warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, or that previews will render for every file, especially as Apple or Google change their platforms and APIs.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Magicelk Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising out of your use of or inability to use the App. Because Spyglass is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed USD 50.

8. Termination

You may stop using the App and revoke its Google access at any time. We may suspend or end your right to use the App if you breach these Terms. The sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law) will continue to apply.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Your continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Israel will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms, unless mandatory law in your place of residence provides otherwise.
